Okotoks Dawgs lose in battle to division rival
The Okotoks Dawgs (15-5) faced their division rival Medicine Hat Mavericks (19-3), who they have been battling with all month long for first place in the West Divison. In tonight’s game, the Dawgs came out on the losing end of a 5–4 game.
The Dawgs scored early with one run in the second and two in the third, but were only able to put one run up after that. Jordan Procyshen (Northeastern Junior College) had the biggest hit of the night with a two RBI single. He finished two for three on the night, which increases his Western Major Baseball League-leading average to .468.
Aaron Conyers got his second start of the summer and pitched five innings. He gave up four runs, although only three of them were earned. Dominic Porretta and Ryan Serrato each pitched relief and shut down the Mavericks, giving up only one unearned run three innings of work. The Dawgs were hurt tonight by the three team errors.
The Dawgs are back in action tomorrow afternoon at 2:05pm against back-to-back WMBL champions Regina Red Sox. It is Diggity’s birthday and the corwd is looking to be huge one at Seaman Stadium. Then on Monday, they finish up their two-game series versus the Red Sox on Canada’s Birthday. There will be donations collected for the people of High River for flood relief, as well as fireworks after the game and a band playing before the game.

June 20, 2013 - The Okotoks Dawgs (11-3) traveled to Swift Current today to take on the Indians (11-5) looking to continue their hot start to the season.
There was no magic at the plate for the Moose Jaw Miller Express on Tuesday night, as they lost 6-2 to the first place Medicine Hat Mavericks.
