Congratulations to WMBL umpire Brad Johnston who was behind the plate calling balls and strikes at the 2017 Senior Little League Canadian Championship.
Edmonton’s Zaine Foth-Thomas threw the first no-hitter in Prospects history in a 7-0 win over the Brooks Bombers on July 4.
The Okotok’s Dawgs were the first team in 2017 to reach the 30-win mark this season.
Matt Lloyd of the Dawgs is also enjoying a stellar season at the plate. He is currently on a 21-game hitting streak.
The Regina Red Sox are collecting used equipment at their games. Anyone who drops off their used equipment receives a free game ticket. The baseball equipment will be donated to under privileged youth, so they can enjoy the great game of baseball.
The Lethbridge Bulls drew 2,268 fans for the second game of a double header against the Yorkton Cardinals on Canada Day setting a single game attendance record for the team.
On July 22, the Medicine Mavericks held a Super Heroes day at the ball park. Fans were not only entertained by the action on the field but also by a few Storm Troopers and Spiderman.
The Bulls continued their tradition of holding a Pink in The Park Day on July 23. The Bulls wore special pink jerseys for the game. Fans participated in a silent auction and other events during the game that generated a total of $1,840 for the Jack Ady Cancer Centre.
