Millers Sign Four American Outfielders

MOOSE JAW, SK -- With the 2012 Western Major Baseball League a week away, the Moose Jaw Miller Express has announced four American players to their roster, outfielders Ben Wylly, Logan Lippert, Kevin Gratza, and Spencer Dunlap.

Gratza played this season at Central Missouri, alongside Miller veterans Jon Cotter and Marshall Dean, playing in 30 games he had four doubles, one home run, 22 RBI’s, and hit .275. Lippert attended University of New Mexico; while Wylly and Dunlap were teammate at University of San Diego (stats are unavailable for Lipper, Wylly, and Dunlap).

"Three of those four guys are at division one schools, they all play several different positions with the exception of Logan Lippert who's exclusively an outfielder,” said Miller Head Coach Michael Hunt, who describes the outfielders at ‘young but talented’. “They’re versatile, have strong arms, they’re good hitters, and coming up here to learn a lot and get used to the league.”

" Lippert is a player I got to see when he played at Lamar Community College several years ago and has since moved on to New Mexico State. He's a big strong outfielder, good arm with a lot of power,” added Coach Hunt. “Wylly and Dunlop are two younger guys that didn't play a lot but are highly touted within the University of San Diego organization. They're going to be athletic, they're going to be quick, and they're going to bring quit a different look to the outfield."

The four imports are the first of 15 allowed by the Miller Express this year and are expected to be in the lineup when they open the 2012 season in Regina against the defending champion Red Sox.
