Cherepuschak (pictured below) steps back after successful 2011

REGINA, SK -- The Regina Red Sox, champions of the Western Major Baseball League in 2011, announced today they have hired Justin Eiswirth as Head Coach of the team for the 2012 season.

That ends a successful three-year term as head coach for 2011 WMBL Coach of the Year, Rob Cherepuschak.

“We made this move because our previous head coach of the last three seasons, Rob Cherepuschak, has decided to take a lesser role with the team,” said Red Sox General Manager Bernie Eiswirth. “We wanted Rob back but it was his decision to step back to spend more time with his young family.”

Justin Eiswirth was an assistant to Rob the last three seasons and played for the Red Sox for four year prior. He was recommended by Coach Cherepuschak as the ideal candidate moving forward.

Cherepuschak will be taking on the new role of Director of Player Personnel with the Red Sox. He will continue to recruit players for from colleges in the United States and Canada.
